With the help of a couple of punk pioneers, San Pedro’s Brouwerij West will celebrate its second anniversary on Saturday, March 3.
Seminal L.A punk band X and San Pedro rocker — and Minutemen and Firehose founder — Mike Watt are set to perform in the 17,000-square-foot outdoor space that it shares with Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles.
They’ll be joined by all-female garage rock trio L.A. Witch.
Doors open at 6 p.m and the music starts at 6:45 p.m.
Housed in a former Port Warehouse initially built by the U.S. Navy during World War II, the brewery specializes in Belgian-style ales and opened its massive doors and 8,000-square-foot tasting room in February 2016.
Besides brewing up beers, the spot has also become a local concert venue thanks to its Popfuji summer concert series.
The live music began the summer after the brewery opened, featuring a lineup of up-and-coming local bands like Long Beach’s Rudy De Anda, as well as seasoned performers like Watt and and Exene Cervenka and John Doe of X.
