Cheers, Long Beach, another brewery is opening soon.
Steady Brew Beer Co., a nano-brewery with a mission to “make beer that Long Beach would be proud of” is planning to holds its grand opening in East Long Beach July 21.
“It’s all over the map, we’re not specializing in any one particular thing, we specialize in good beer,” said Robert Booth, who co-owns Steady Brew with fellow Long Beach natives Aaron Henderson and Dennis Russo.
“We’re just brewing quality beer. It’s not pretentious, this isn’t rocket science, we all just enjoy cold, good beer and that’s what we’re doing,” he said.
The company has been around since January, making several styles of beers like IPAs, stouts, Belgians, brown ales and others that have been available at area markets, bars and restaurants.
But with a focus on strengthening their community through beer, the trio wanted to give people a chance to drink it straight from the source.
“Long Beach is a great city and we have a lot of good breweries here. You want to do things for your community and your city so we actually were really focused on opening in East Long Beach because there’s nothing on this side of town and we wanted to do something for the neighbors,” Booth said.
A few people already got a peek at the new 39-person capacity taproom at 2936 Clark Ave. last weekend during a soft opening.
“We were all super stoked, to have such a great community support was awesome,” he said of the soft opening.
Booth said they plan on opening with six beers on tap that will include a couple of new recipes they are working on.
“People will be able to come back here on the 21st, hopefully…we have some stuff in the fermenters right now, we want to make sure everything is good,” Booth said.
Steady Brew joins other Long Beach breweries, such as the recently opened Liberation Brewing Company and Ten Mile Brewing as well as long-running spots Beachwood Brewing, Belmont Brewing Company and Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery.
