Local beer cred will be on tap Sept.15 when the second annual Craft Beer LB Fest returns to Rancho Los Cerritos.

The lineup is made up of local Long Beach breweries with a mix of established spots and new up and coming places,  and it’s all meant to highlight the city’s growing beer scene.

“You’ll get to experience all there is about Long Beach, beer related, all in one spot,” said Dennis Trilles, the organizer of the all-ages beer festival.

More than a dozen breweries will take part in festival, including well-known award winning spots Beachwood Brewing, Belmont Brewing, and Rock Bottom.

Some of the new guys will be there, too, such as Liberation Brewing Company, which opened its doors this year and is making a new beer to debut at the festival, and Ten Mile Brewing, which opened late last year.

The beer festival will also be the place to get a sneak peek at where the beer scene here is heading since it will include a few soon-to-open Long Beach breweries such as Hog Canyon Brewing, Ambitious Ale and Trademark Brewing, which is bringing their Ten Hour Stout plus an IPA and a Kolsch to the festival.

“It’ll be a one-stop shop to try them all,” Trilles said of the new guys.

“We’re really excited about the Long Beach beer scene…I see Long Beach as becoming one of those cities that people will want to travel to just to go brewery hopping,” he said.
